Tower crane safety operation rules

1. There shall be sufficient working space when the tower crane works, and there shall be no obstacles within the lifting and landing 
radius of the tower crane boom.

2, before the operation, must be the work site around the environment, driving roads, overhead wires, buildings and components of

the weight and distribution of a comprehensive understanding.

3. Before the tower crane turns, luffing, walking and lifting of the hook, the operator shall sound a signal. Check the power supply 

voltage should reach 380V, its range of variation shall not exceed +20V, -10v, start the control switch before power supply should
be in the zero position, connect the power supply, check the metal structure part no leakage before the machine.

4. When tower cranes far from the ground in the control room have difficulties in normal command, two commanding personnel at

high altitude and on the ground can be set up, or effective communication methods such as interphone can be used for command.

5. Safety protection devices, such as trolley luffing and movable arm luffing limiter, travel limiter, torque limiter, hook height limiter 

and various travel limiter switches, must be complete, sensitive and reliable, and shall not be adjusted or removed at will. It is forbidden
to replace the control mechanism with a limit device.

6. During tower crane operation, no one is allowed to stay, work or pass under the hoisting arm and heavy objects. When lifting heavy
objects, it is forbidden to pass over people. It is strictly forbidden to use tower cranes to carry people.

7. Tower crane machinery must operate in accordance with the specified lifting performance, and shall not exceed the load or lift objects

of unknown weight. Under special circumstances, when the overloading is needed, the crane must be checked and calculated, and there 
are technical measures to ensure safety. The crane may be lifted only after being approved by the technical person in charge of the 
enterprise and supervised by a special person on the spot, but it shall not exceed 10% of the load limit.

8. It is forbidden to lift heavy objects in the air for a long time. In case of sudden failure during operation, measures should be taken to land

heavy objects to a safe place, and maintenance should be carried out after turning off the motor or cutting off the power supply. In the 
event of sudden power failure, all controllers should be immediately transferred to zero, disconnect the main switch of power supply, and
take measures to safely reduce the weight to the ground.

9. It is strictly prohibited to use tower cranes to cable, tilt or lift heavy objects buried or condensed on the ground. Concrete members or
formwork poured on site must be loosened before lifting.

10. When lifting heavy objects, they shall be bound smoothly and firmly, and shall not pile up or hang sporadic objects on the heavy objects. 

Sporadic materials and objects must be securely bound with a hanging cage or wire rope before lifting. Objects marked with binding position
or mark shall be bound according to the marked position. The Angle between the binding wire rope and the object shall not be less than 300°.

11. In case of severe weather, such as strong wind, heavy rain, fog, etc., the tower crane should stop operating in the open air. After the strong 

wind and heavy rain, the crane should be tested first to confirm the brake is sensitive and reliable before the operation.

12. When the lifting load reaches 90% or more of the rated lifting weight of the tower crane, stop lifting the heavy weight 20 ~ 50cm above
the ground for the following inspection: stability of the crane, reliability of the brake, stability of the heavy weight, fastness of binding. After
confirmation, continue lifting. For heavy objects that may shake, a pull rope must be tied.

13. The lifting and falling speed of heavy objects should be even. It is strictly forbidden to brake suddenly. The right and left rotation should 
be smooth, and the reverse movement should not be made before the rotation stops. No gravity drop tower crane, no free fall with load.

14. The minimum distance from the top of the tower crane hook device to the lower end of the trolley frame: 1000mm for the upper rotary 

type with a multiplier of 2 and 700mm for a multiplier of 4; It is 800mm for the lower rotary double ratio. When the multiplier is 400mm, 
the lifting should be stopped immediately.

15. After the completion of the operation, the tower crane should be parked in the middle of the track, the lifting arm should turn downwind

and release the rotary brake. The trolley and the balance weight should be placed in the non-working state, and the lifting hook should be
lifted 2 ~ 3m away from the top of the lifting arm.
